You will learn about the Nervous System & Foundations of Yoga for Regulation

This lesson introduces the autonomic nervous system and its two main branches: the sympathetic and parasympathetic. The sympathetic system prepares the body for action. In contrast, the parasympathetic system supports “rest and digest”. We will also learn about the Polyvagal Theory, exploring an additional state of the nervous system.

Understanding these modes helps us recognise how the body responds to stress and recovery, and how practices like breathwork, movement, and mindfulness can support nervous system regulation.
